From good to the best is a continuum and Peter F Drucker said it well, "Knowledge has to be improved, challenged and increased constantly, or it vanishes". Thus in 2010, we look forward to adding, moderating and editing new submissions by users while constantly improving the 1200+ pages of content we have accumulated over the last year.
Currently, the content on LifeHugger is unevenly distributed with Mnemonics and Videos affilaite holding the major share. This year we hope to publish more good powerpoints at the Slideshows affiliate from our collection and contributions of users so that visitors would find the powerpoint they came for or a close match.
The pageviews are going up and it would make the editors and all contributors happy to know their work is appreciated, useful and saving someone time. With more comments and appreciation from our visitors (Eg. Talk page of In the Womb), we hope to see more smiles and good karma across LifeHugger in 2010.
And, as shared in the previous post the website will be made to look better and more user-friendly by shifting few things around and adding interesting strips by mid 2010. We wish to maintain the "humility" and would not introduce dynamic elements on each page as it would raise the page load time and can affect users from many parts of the world. The pages will remain simple and light enough to load on every browser.
2010 will also be the year for new affiliates on LifeHugger.Com which we have tentatively named Connect (for wholesome learning and getting to the core of medicine) and Aarogya (which in Sanskrit means "Health" and will be a platform for health audiences when released). These are still on the drawing board and are shaping up well. It will be long till more can be said.
For now, we hope to keep improving (Kai-Zen as they say in Japan) and building LifeHugger.Com in 2010 and attract users to LifeHugger to do what we do best, "Sharin wat we know!".
Picture: Bees at work! (Shot through my window. Think there are eight of them, sitting and hovering over the hive.)
I like the ideas and appreciate the efforts.
God bless.
